There is a base you can't fight... maybe at the margin.

I recognize the solid base, but that margin might be more than a margin. After all, we have been able to get people to volunteer to go off to war to die and be maimed and to buy overpriced, tinny cars for their gas mileage through culture. And, in third-world countries, if we were serious, we could use money and lifestyles as bribes. If we were serious. There's already a large cohort hooked on the environment. They would be naturally receptive on principle. Poor people would be naturally receptive to bribes.

Not trying to start a movement here. I was just musing on the absence of any discussion of a very obvious but apparently taboo factor.

It might be fun for somebody to propose that we limit tax deductions to one "own" kid per adult and watch the explosion.
