Engineers live in the real world and are conservative. Many " scientists" live in a world of dependency on government money and are simply parasites.

First, I am sure that pew poll can be reproduced over and over. People attack the poll as though they're just arbitrary findings done without controls which is silly. Pew is a highly recognized polling company because it adheres carefully to statistical standards.

But it makes perfect sense that scientists would not be Republicans if you think about it. In the last two Republican presidential races they asked every single nominee if they believe in evolution and if they believed in anthropogenic global warming. The only person that raised his hand was John Huntsman, and he said: "call me crazy".

The majority of the Republican Party does not even believe in evolution, let alone global warming. Every scientist the world worth his salt knows that evolution is a sound theory. In fact evolution is reproduced in the laboratory more than any other theory is something I heard just recently.

So the simple reason that scientists are generally not Republicans, and the majority are liberals and Democrats is because liberals and Democrats believe in science, and evolution and global warming and stem cell research, etc. etc.

The Republican Party is anti-intellectual and constantly puts down science. That is stupid. So how can a scientist be a Republican? They know evolution is a real as a heart attack.

Forty-nine percent of Republicans don't believe in evolution, a new Public Policy Polling survey found Tuesday. The poll by the Democratic-leaning firm found that 49 percent of Republicans said they do not believe in evolution while 37 percent said they do believe in evolution.Feb 24, 2015
