The problem I see here is that MS has a strangle hold on office applications

Mike, there will be several office-packs to choose from and compatibility with commands and file formats is not rocket science. More compelling is the fact that Joe Six-millon-dollar-business is going to be able to outfit his company with software from a variety of vendors that looks and feels the way the operator in question wants it to, while maintaining central management of the software. In the final analysis, it's the work product that counts and you can generate the same quality work product in the same time with the same effort using a centrally managed $49 suite of Java applets as you can with using a $150 to $300 worth of Microsoft bloatware running on your desktop boat anchor.
