>> Funny how the deficit zooms under R administrations, then falls under Ds, then zooms again under Rs, and yet one of the talking points that is repeated ad nauseum is that the debt is the fault of Democrats.

The debt that is taking us down is that from Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Obamacare. That's why I call it the "Democrat's Debt." These programs were not Republican initiatives, Democrats have resisted all attempts at fixing them, and now it is too late unless Trump can get a hell of a lot of economic growth going.

So, yes, the debt belongs to the Democrats, although we're all stuck with the problem.

The truth is, though, adding Obamacare when they did was unconscionable. And were it not dying soon, it would quickly surpass the others for total incompetent mismanagement of taxpayer dollars.

Funny how you seem confused about debt and deficit... followed closely by ignorance that 0bama managed to create more debt than all who came before him.

Sam; Ideologues never are bothered by facts. They ignore every single fact that does not support their narrow look at the issues. It is hopeless to argue with them - but it is clear to see who the ideologues are by how they look at this issue. Wars don't add to the deficit and SS which has amassed a huge surplus over decades that was meant to fund SS into and through the baby boomer years somehow is now the cause of all our debt. Our debt would be much worse WITHOUT SS.
