I just don't understand why it is that people intentionally lie to further their ideological goals. They aren't trying to convince you or me. They are trying to generate enough buzz that it gets picked up in their alternate media. That gets amplified until it becomes their new reality. They are used to their reality being malleable and changing. Because all that is important is winning, not in the actual exchange of information. We have always been at war with East Asia.
