Alexa,

I totally agree!

BTW, I first started seriously smoking when I was a very young teen-ager and flying quite a bit. In those days, the airliners supplied the passengers with sample packages of cigarettes, the passengers' obvious youth notwithstanding. Of course, I lit up to join the adults. For the record, the sample cigarettes were Kent with the Micronite Filter.

Perhaps you saw the news story concerning the recent ruling and substantial award in favor of the plaintiffs, against the manufacturers of Kent cigarettes. I have mixed feelings about that.

Holly

More than half the flight crews smoke: in fact when the federal ban was enacted, the Airline Pilots Association testified before Congress that if pilots were not exempted the accident rate would go up. Guess what? The cockpit area was immediately exempted!

So every time you fly commercially you can thank your lucky stars the pilots were allowed to keep smoking.
