If you live anywhere but in the major urban population centers of the west or north east you will fail to get the numbers to represent you. Grievances exist all over the country as noted by the county by county election map. Without a system of safeguards, their interests would be totally nullified. By failing to listen to the non-urban grieving majority of sections, the Democrats lost support. Most of the country did not consider some of the social issues raised by the left to be a priority, yet issues like transgender bathrooms was all the craze over the past few years. I can see ways to make that work and be done with the argument but I didn't even see that appeal in the argument. The argument was seen as entitlement by some and a right by others, and petty by most. Meanwhile the vast majority of non-urban American citizens across the country were complaining about their own struggles and issues, which weren't permitted to have a spot on the stage of Dem concerns.

but still at least my vote shows up in the overall popular vote. I understand your message. Only saying that, when one's vote doesn't count wrt to winning the election, there are various messages you can send, yours being just one. For example, one could vote for the green or the libertarian to add to their heft so that might influence others to sign on or help them get on ballots more easily. Or for Mickey Mouse. There's a message in that, too. Whatever makes you feel better.
