And to be honest I've always been repulsed by it, because to me it represents people not thinking for themselves. I think we have another pot/kettle/black situation here. People who resist conformity sometimes resist it on principle... but often they are just chafing at the extant norm. Having overthown the offensive conformity, they don't consider the job done and let a thousand flowers bloom. Rather they try to impose conformity to their own norm. Meet the new boss, just as restrictive as the old boss.
