It doesn't mainly give to the 1 percent, it takes less from them.

Even ignoring the imorality of the taking in the 1st place, and the benefits of lower taxes in general, its important to from time to time have tax cuts that in dollar terms (not necessarily in terms of percentage of income paid in to taxes) benefit the rich more than the non rich. Why? Because tax rates go back and forth. When there is a tax increase it increases the cost (again in dollar terms, not always in terms of percentage of income) for the rich more than the non-rich. So when there is a tax cut it reasonably has to benefit the rich more than the non-rich in dollar terms. If not you have a one way ratchet towards confiscatory taxation. Now you might be just fine with confiscatory taxation, but its a bit extreme, even ridiculous, to maintain that anyone who opposes them has a moral screw loose.
