. Do you lose less oil? Doubt it. Don't believe you have a windmill or solar panels either.
the last couple of years (not this year) I used less oil by turning the thermostat down for the whole house and using electric heat in our family room for the evening....our house was originally wired for electric heat.
With the reduced price of oil, I don't think it makes much of a difference. I am considered solar, we can get a 4500 tax rebate.....my friend has it....

I did get a free programmable thermostat from the electric company which can be set from any online device including theirs....their objective is to gain access to my AC usage when they have a brown out...
