I meant I have been on this earth a long time relative to other people. Happy new year to you.

The last couple of years I have immersed myself in Asian cinema. And what I see these young smart Asian directors doing is making films about how an ideal society would function. The themes of all these films revolves around ethics and politeness and honor and thoughtfulness beauty and humor.

It seems like virtually every one has a theme of equality, compassion politeness and introspection and beauty. And they are usually both corny and profound. I think it takes a secure person to be corny. A couple of my favorites are descendents of the sun, the man from nowhere, secret affair and Secret Garden.

I've been watching one over the weekend that is so corny I won't recommend it, as I don't think people would take it seriously and think I am nuts ors enile-lol.

But for me, the most profound movies are the ones where the directors are describing a thesis of living a happy life by being nice to each other. And that involves some corniness which Americans would find contrary to our macho culture.

I think the two most important things a person can do is develop their mind and make being nice and kind the top priority.

Something I would recommend for everyone is to go to YouTube and look up Plato's allegory of the cave. There's a couple of animated three or four minute pieces that explain what that story is about.

It is amazing that this man understood that concept 2500 years ago. And modern-day science has confirmed that everything he thought is real.

So the most important macro decision anyone has to make in life, IMO, is will they live in the cave or outside of the cave.

We need to build sweet societies for the children. Trumps hate will not do that.
