Buckwheat,

In short, you have to be stupid enough to buy the overpriced system with Intel Inside. :)

My point exactly:
Most people would not need the requirement
as a serious Gamer etc. bit there are people who just have to
have the fastest even if marginal say 3-5% and are willing to
pay the big bucks. Most people would probably not be able to tell
the difference much like the Musician who plays by "Ear" and can
hear the slightest change but most people could not tell. I got
my 233Mhz MMX system several months ago from a "screwdriver" shop
48 megs ram,Diamond Stealth 4 Meg Video, 64 Awe Soundblaster,24X
CD ROM and a 15 inch monitor for $1500.00.Even now including
monitor the same System is about the same price at say Comp USA
but is about $200.00 cheaper in the Screwdriver shops and I still
havent for my purposes used the full potential.

I am only repeating what the articles now say and whether you read
the articles and take the advice or get the advice from somebody
else irt is going to have an effect. One is always reading that
people arent paying the same as last year for Christmas presents
etc because they dont know with all the downsizing etc they will
have a job later this year. The biggest bank System in Florida
which is Barnett Bank is being bought up by Nations Bank and they
are already talking about eliminating as many as 6000 jobs by
the end of January for instance. If you worked for Barnett and
still wanted to buy a Computer would you buy the $3000 one from
Gateway or Computer city or the $1000 one from the screwdriver
shop that did all you needed it for?
