Yes, I got it

You go to Breitbart for stuff that is not factually based because you're looking for stuff that is factually based

you go to Breitbart to read things that are serious but not literal? factual but not factual?... very odd... whatever floats your boat

I go there to read things that I'm not being told about elsewhere AND I want them to be factually based. That's different from saying that everything on Breitbart is factually based.

You COULD read the National Enquirer. Trump says of it,
'The National Enquirer did a story. It was their story. It wasn't my story. It was about Ted Cruz. I have no idea whether it was right or not. They actually have a very good record of being right.'
Just dismiss the assclown stories..

Why are you looking for an alternative view. I would think you would want the most correct and sophisticated view.

So I would suggest the Guardian or BBC?

Alex is dead right, trying to get any real information from Breitbart is like trying to get current events from the National Enquirer. Its mostly total bullshit.

I would call it a bad habit.

<<Alex, if you weren't so intent on discrediting all of my viewpoints, you would have been able to discern exactly what I was saying. And it is this: I go there to read things that I'm not being told about elsewhere AND I want them to be factually based. That's different from saying that everything on Breitbart is factually based. Why? Because much of Breitbart is opinions/editorializing type articles without much mention of data or other facts to support the opinions. This I ignore.

What I'm looking for are actual factual happenings around the world--actual events. And I'm also looking for some opinion based reporting that draws on reliable data, say govt. data, but presents the reader with another way of looking at things, i.e. an alternative viewpoint.

Another thing about Breitbart, which is assuredly not classy like the Atlantic or New Yorker, is that the articles are short and very concise. A good way to start the morning and if I want more I can google. For the most part I ignore the comments sections which can become irrationally racist and xenophobic.
