We are born an animal with an animal's brain. But for some reason it turns out that we are capable of changing that brain. We are capable of creating new and better societies and better ways to live than we ever found roaming around the planet as a nomadic animal. Higher order thinking allows for responsible existential thinking and that means moving outside of Plato's cave of myths, and into the sun light of reality. And our primary order of business, must be developing and sustaining a civilized society that ensures that the citizens, and especially the children live without fear, hunger or lack of shelter. And we are plenty rich to do that if smart people are at the helm. The success of a society can be measured by the smiles of the children. And history has proven without a doubt, that the more a society engages in higher order thinking, the more the children smile. << Higher order thinking does not even recognize those drives Yu are making an assumption... That is not a truth.. Higher order thinking takes ALL into account ... else it is a sham.. Period. existential counter culture has been about. Define that.. We are NOT existential beings.. we corporeal animals at the top of the food chain.. PART but only part of that dominance is the result of our capacity for existential thought...
