That is perhaps the best investment advice ever posted on SI. "How about fertile agricultural land in a stable state which can be rented out, an orchard or vineyard could also qualify, or a forest at least it grows?" A comfortable little house on 40 acres and clean water supply underneath. A combination of forest and tilled land. A river or creek running by it with gold-rich-sand in the bottom only you know about. Security is mostly an illusion but if trouble came it would buy some peace-of-mind.
