Grand Marnier is great when eaten with chocolates, or in chocolate mousse. It's kinda too sweet and strong alone, I don't like it by itself either.

Actually, I just went downstairs and added a few drops of the Chambord to my white wine. I'll toast the New Year with you, and I know my friend would have loved this conversation and the whole idea of this way of communicating with people we would otherwise never meet.

I have made Kummel several times: Cumin and other herbs, which names escape me now, soaked in Vodka, then drained off and sweetened with sugar to make a most delightful cordial.
