We had a patchwork of care- and the hoops to get care are sometimes tough to navigate, especially for the low functional, of whom there are many. But hey, don't worry about it- just pretend everyone has prenatal care and everyone could get diagnosed early- and all things can be seen (none of which is true). And they'll be a heck of a lot less care after the ritual gutting of the ACA- and even that was expensive (as people kept bitching about, but there will be even less care without it.) Here are some facts:reason.com It's hard to see how someone, absent religious reasons, could be against abortion at 12 weeks or less- though unlike you, I won't speak in absolutes. I'm sure there are some people. But a large majority of people want to allow women to terminate pregnancies early in the pregnancy. And if there weren't so much propaganda, most people would allow the rare cases of late term abortion- because those are agonizing decisions. "There's also little evidence that anyone actually chooses to terminate a pregnancy "at nine months." Just a little over 1 percent of U.S. abortions take place at any point after around five months pregnancy." "Very few U.S. women abort after 20 weeks pregnancy. Even with late-term abortion allowed in some parts of the country and under certain circumstances, nearly all abortions performed in the U.S. happen before the end of the second trimester. According to U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data from 2012, 65.8 percent of abortions took place within the first eight weeks of pregnancy, and 91.4 percent occurred within the first 13 weeks. Just 7.2 percent of abortions were performed between 14 and 20 weeks gestation, which means just 1.3 percent of abortions took place at or after 21 weeks pregnancy. And, from 2003 through 2012, the CDC saw a significant shift toward earlier abortions, with the percentage occuring within the first six weeks up 24 percent during the study period. The percentage of abortions occurring at or after 13 weeks, meanwhile, remained relatively consistently throughout the study period and never rose above 9 percent." All of the world's major religions are patriarchal, so it's understandable why they'd have built in mechanisms to control women's bodies and the reproduction of women- and if you're a member of these religions- any of them- you should absolutely order the women in your life to remain pregnant, in all circumstances. But women who are not your women, do not really deserve to labor (pun intended) under your system, when it is primarily a religious outgrowth. I will not convince you I am sure, and you sure as hell will not convince me, so this has been yet another exercise of futility and a complete waste of time. But we "communicated".
