Joe,

Re: "Superior design, which can amount to 1/2 generation process technology. Confidence that they will catch up with the process technology."

I can't really comment on the design side ... However, I think you are
very wrong about the assumption that NSM can catch up on the process side.
NSM has never demonstrated state-of-the-art process capability ... At least
AMD has made some effort towards that end!!

Joe,

I'll add an Intel cross-license which allows them to manufacture their x86 designs at ANY competent foundry. UMC, TSMC and several other potential foundries already have 0.25&#181m processes.

I think I've posted this before, but here are the terms of ST's Intel cross-license. National's is broader according to Halla.

Pursuant to a 1977 license agreement (the "Intel License Agreement"), SGS-THOMSON U.S. is licensed to make, have made, use and sell (in addition to other rights) products that practice all Intel patents filed prior to 1999 for the life of such patents.

JoeBob,
Re -- Superior design, which can amount to 1/2 generation process technology.

Yeah right, with those PR 5000 ratings WOW!! Cyrix chips are equivalent to pentium 5000's. Sure JoeBob, its good design when you can't crank the clock. After all according to Jimmy OLD man, Mhz sells.

Re -- Products mix that is well suited to where the market is going.

Yeah where is the market going... Heck noone else knows but you, but of course you are JoeBob, Mr Knowitall.
