Another idea: Get a cheap B&W multi function and use Staples / Office Depot for the few photos you may want.

You may also want to check out the warehouse clubs like Costco and Sam's. They have some good prices "when" they have a discount on the items and they do end up being less than Amazon.

One negative on the color printers is the form factor (amount of space) but that is for most printers.

Turns out, I lied! I don't know what I was thinking but the cheap printer I bot (twice) over at least 15 years is a CANON, not Epson. Sorry to mislead. I'm sure Epson would be comparable but that's not the one I bot.
