The math is straightforward, bentway. I'm guessing you can't or won't see it because so many pundits are more interested in dissing Trump than they are in exploring the issue. When the topic is googled, up comes a list of articles that refute Trump. All kinds of publications--most on the left but plenty on the right, too. When you read a few of the articles, though, it becomes clear that many are parroting each other and many are equating the VAT with a sales tax. Now and then one will say that since the WTO has ruled that VATs are not tarriffs it must be so and Trump should just hush. But I'm ready to give up on this topic and see what the future brings. Trump will find some out of the box thinkers and he definitely has the fortitude to follow through on their advice. I'm excited about this issue. Fed up with American companies being forced to go offshore because they didn't have a government to enforce fair trade policies.
