Process of elimination. What else could it be?
The union of a human egg and a human sperm produces a human being. Not a kitty kat nor a puppy dog. Pretty simple really.

You are differentiating human from non-human. Yes, that's simple, at least it still is. Not so sure about the future. The product of that union is, indeed, human. Whether it is a "being," or not, I'm open to suggestions. I'm confident it's not a person.

When was that person born?

Interesting question. It would have to be when it came out of the incubator for lack of another alternative if nothing else, but that status compared with a preemie in an incubator does present a conceptual challenge re categorization. And it does have implications and consequences. "Which twin is older" type of consequences.

Fortunately, we have a long-standing traditional standard of birth conveying personhood. Your scenario is all the more reason to stick with it.
