We don't at present, even though we do have the radishes problem, because we have a regard for individual rights that is inviolable.

And we must never abandon that. Civilization depends on it absolutely. Respect for any such principle requires clear lines and consensus. Start mucking around with it cavalierly and you threaten it. We must be scrupulous about defending it, must neither cull persons nor define down personhood. I believe that sticking with birth as the line of demarcation for personhood is the best way to maintain the robustness of the principle.

That does not mean that non-persons are not accorded moral weight as the zealots suggest. Not at all.
