Yeah, you'd love a VAT. Well hidden from public view.

Taxes need to be seen. Every day. That's why the NST is a much better idea. At the end of the year, if you didn't have enough money, you raise it. So people feel it.

You'll get a controlled government that doesn't suck up everything people try to do for themselves; one that just does what it needs to do.
