Just some anecdotal info:
B of A budgeted $80mm 2yr. bonus money to hold its IT staff in place.
Three months ago "decent" programmers were getting $75k on the west
coast. From my son, a project mgr.
Legislation introduced in Wash. St. to waive time and one-half overtime
payment when hourly rate of pay exceeds $27. Supported by Microsoft, which employs upwards of 16,000 programers!
London Times quoted a "high official" saying that y2k remediation was 80%
completed by monetary union countries converting currencies. What blatant gall!!

Does anyone doubt that a body shortage exists?!!
BTW, has anyone seen an analyst reduce an earnings estimate recognizing
y2k expenses?
