Okay, fine Holly, I have tried to make it pretty clear that the patch worked for me, and if someone is really serious about quitting smoking, it is worth a try (as is EVERY assistance that the medical field offers). I don't think anyone here takes me very seriously at all, and they are quite clear I am not a doctor, so I don't always qualify my vague discussions of diseases and treatments with the equivalent of "don't try this at home, boys and girls" legal qualifications, but it is probably prudent to emphasize that once in awhile, and also to say that if you want to quit smoking, consult your doctor, because there are helpful new treatments available.

But now you have aroused my curiosity, because you seem to be so adamantly AGAINST the patch. I used the thirty-day plan patches, where the doses decrease gradually over time as you are weaned from nicotine slowly and relatively painlessly, and they are available over the counter, so I don't really think I am endangering anyone's health by suggesting they are worth a try.

Do you have NEGATIVE feelings about patches?
