<<<<<It will be interesting to see how Trump deals with automation>>>>

I hope nothing. ........They are logging a very large piece of timberland I can see out my front window. Every few seconds a tree comes down. It is absolutely amazing at the speed these machines harvest big trees as if they are tooth picks. It was 14 degrees outside when they started up this morning and yet the workers inside the cab were kept in warmth and probably listening to music as the trees came down. BUT, the workers were also safe. No chainsaws being run by numb fingers. ..........How do you change that?

What Trump can do is push the pendulum so that the machines that harvest these trees are made in America instead of Finland. They are also building a new modern mechanized saw mill which also means a lot of jobs will be lost because it is so mechanized. But trying to change that is like arguing against using electricity when it came along. It is progress in my mind. BUT we can make sure those logs are processed here in America instead of being sent overseas to be made into something and then returned to us as a finished product. That seems to me to be an easy fix.
