CSCO ships Gigabit Ethernet
Now all the consumor needs is a standard that defines Gigabit Ethernet. Proprietary implemetations suck...just ask anyone who is using IBM TokenRing.

After the IEEE ratifies a standard, a media standard will need to be established, and then a desktop that can utilize it needs to be produced. Most desktops today can't even fill a 10Mbps line 100%. 98% of the servers can't fill a 100Mbps line. It appears that the networkers are loosing momentum due to a bloating of the market. Beta-testing CSCO's impementation (or anybody else's) GbEthernet is not my idea responsible network deployment. But it does sound fun though.<G>
