Barb, I don't think you read my post carefully enough. Yes, if you deposit $50,000 they will let you short $100,000 worth of stock. However, they will take $5/share from your MMF cash and move it into the non-interest bearing short account. The lost interest on your cash may be much larger than a commission at another broker. Good luck, but keep your eyes on the cash.
