Throwing out a prideful chest usually ushers in a virtual a back hand of some sort. I'll do my best here. I generally prefer to shun posts from you that are pre-loaded with, terms like: Only, Always, Everybody, Nobody and your faves, ... we, Everyone agrees with me, etc., in which you proclaim yourself a spokes person for all. Then you make stuff up which most people couldn't possibly identify with. So, I will entertain your use of superlative with my own turn of a phrase in this case. Every cloud has an interesting lining worthy of note. I notice that the American Social Welfare system is an unmatched monument of good intention for taking care of people. It has also been such a complete failure that I would support an effort to eliminate it entirely, provided we have a feasible plan to fill the void. The proposals from Dems and Repubs (yes Repubs too) are not going to fix the problems. This is the wrong place to start. They are both suggesting some tweek to the current system, which is unfixable. 1) What's wrong and needs to be corrected with the current system, should be the question to begin with. The current approach locks poor people into a system that destroys opportunity for themselves and hope for their children. The current approach dispenses with the natural support systems like family and local congregations. The current approach does not permit society to involve mediating charitable solutions as part of the overall solution. The current approach no longer represents our original goal, which was to provide temporary assistance for people we could help to get back on their feet, and help families and charitable organizations to provide for the infirm. 2) The how to provide a correction to the current failed system is the second question to answer. The floor is now open for discussion. If you think the Dems own this and you speak for them, then step up and provide us with a viable plan to replace the unfixable failed system. I doubt you are up to it but feel free to give it a try.
