This was sent to me by someone who is not a SI member. They ask me to post it on this board. I do not know anything about this person.

After the long dry spell with no news about CLYC on the thread or anywhere else and the stock trading down toward the teens I thought that it might be worth putting another $1,000 or so into it if I could get some indication that the Company still existed and that it wasn't bankrupt and the stock might not be heading to zero after all. So in early December, 1997 I Called RMJ Associates and they said the guy that handled CLYC was sick and would call me back. He never did. Left a message with CLYC but didn't hear back from them. A few days later I remembered that Curtis and Paul had posted their email address on the SI thread and decided to email them on December 10, 1997 to see if I could get any news from either of them. Curtis gave a
prompt reply, but no new news. Paul did not reply at all. With the stock trading in the teens and heading lower I decided to call RMJ and CLYC again until I found somthing out. First called RMJ and this time they gave me the story that they would only talk to me if I was a broker. Had my broker call them and they put him on hold for 15 minutes. He tried again the next day, and they wouldn't talk to him or hung up or somthing, but anyway, no info. I then resolved to keep calling CLYC at least once a day untill I got to talk to someone. On December 19th I called and asked to talk to Carl and to
my amazement he was in and took my call. First thing he said was that he was just about to call me. I assumed that he was out of the office a lot and I just happened to catch him and that he was returning calls that day.

(Remember, I'm a novice at this and didn't know what to ask.)
To my best recollection of the conversation on 12/19 over 2 weeks ago this is how it went: Carl said he was doing great. That Bret Bodine was no longer sponsered by them (I knew that because of an article I had read on the internet that CLYC had not made payments to Bret and he was getting sponsorship elswhere). He indicated that the marketing firm (I believe it was SME a susidiary of RJR Nabisco) had not done 98% of what they were have supposed to. That the Company had $2 million in debt. That the Company had a couple of patents on placing some kind of coupon on cash register tapes. That there would be no news this year; to let tax selling run its course and that they would release news first part of next year. Sixteen million shares outstanding. Also from my notes somthing about ATM, 1/19/98, 154
locations. Del coupon, Spartan Stores, $1.99/6 min.

Based on that I determined that the Company still existed. Carl seemed to be truthful. That things hadn't gone as they had hoped and that there were problems and they had some new things coming up.

It sounded like they would be around a few more months at least. Seeing the stock in the .12 to .14 range and falling, I put in an order for 12,000 @ 3/32 or .09375. It never got filled. The lowest ask I believe was .11 and after that it started going up. I still only own 7000 shares. If I'd only known it was going up to .40, I'd have gotten a wheelborrow full. I don't know why this stock is rising. My guess is tax loss sellers buying back.
Mabey Carl is doing the phone conference thing again and promoting new
products. Maybey I had the news in my lap and didn't know enough to act on it. Anyway I halfway expect it to drop again. It's done this before.

Keep calling 800-766-2782 and ask for Carl Smith Sr. and RMJ Associates at 281-596-9000.

Has anyone purchased stock through one of the MMs. Don't thy have more info on companies they trade?

Good Luck

"Abducted by aliens?" Hell, I thought Carl WAS an alien! gggg

Hey, Curtis. You did good! Thanks for sharing the info. You got more out of Carl in one phone call than the rest of us got in an entire year. From what you said, it doesn't sound like CLYC is going to go anywhere special for a while. There are probably a lot better opportunities out there than this one. Good luck in your investing in 1998... George
