You can train your taste buds to be more sensitive. You will get the same pleasure out of little sugar as you do from it now.

I love sugar.

Tell me about it. Bought the book at Barnes and Nobles this morning. Read the first chapter which is just a framing chapter. Looks well framed. We'll see. It will take some convincing to get me to cut back on sugar as much as these arguments suggest I should.
