>> They've had nearly ten years to produce an alternative yet are still talking about selling insurance across state lines, which might have helped somewhat pre PPACA but is really dumb now.

I don't think it is dumb now but it sure feels like a band-aid on a very deep flesh wound.

It was my understanding Ryan had something in the can months ago. If they don't it is on them. And frankly, it is incomprehensible to me.

If they think they're going to "fix" Obama care by doing the same thing Reid & others did -- pulling it out of their butts at the last minute -- they are going to make a bigger mistake than the Democrats did in the first place.

However, Trump will give them (Dems) an opportunity to have a seat at the table, unlike what the Dems did with Republicans. They will have a legitimate role to play, I feel certain -- because Trump can clearly see the reasons ACA failed. A big contributor the failure, IMO, was that the partisan issues were not dealt with before the law was enacted; hence, we only had half the people in the country represented.

They could have had it up and running in six months with no fuss, no muss.

Note a chance because they would have had zero Republican support, zero support from the insurance industry/medical lobby, and they would not have gotten the support of a significant fraction of Dems from Red states.

They funny thing is that per some recent polls from the Kaiser Family Foundation, plenty of Trump voters want something similar to what you stated, but this is the exact opposite of what Ryan & Co plan on doing.

Indeed, sit back and watch the train wreck.
