Respond to of 74603 Donald Trump ‘not surprised’ Meryl Streep roasted him By Chris Perez January 9, 2017 | 2:08am | Updated Meryl Streep blasts Trump in controversial speech Donald Trump has responded to Meryl Streep’s impassioned Golden Globes acceptance speech — condemning the actress as “a Hillary lover” and saying he was “not surprised” that she blasted him. The President-elect spoke to the New York Times in a phone interview early Monday shortly after the awards ceremony ended and apparently expressed his contempt for the Hollywood icon. Trump told the newspaper that while he didn’t actually see or listen to Streep’s speech, it was one he saw coming from the avid Hillary Clinton supporter, who famously started her endorsement speech at the 2016 Democratic National Convention with an ecstatic, guttural howl. He added that the countless jabs being aimed at him throughout the night from the “liberal movie people” in attendance at the Golden Globes were also very predictable. Streep and several other stars turned the awards show into a full-fledged roast of Trump on Sunday night as they called him out on a slew of issues during their acceptance speeches and backstage interviews. “Disrespect invites disrespect, violence incites violence,” Streep said after accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award. “When the powerful use their position to bully others, we all lose.” FILED UNDER DONALD TRUMP , GOLDEN GLOBES , GOLDEN GLOBES 2017 , MERYL STREEP SHARE THIS ARTICLE: Facebook Twitter Google Email Copy READ NEXT Trump lashes out at 'fake' media over border wall reportin...
