From her I learned, that Jews only eat what swims in the water and not bottom dwellers. Guess muscles and oysters (at least the grown ups) belong to the non swimming category.

....yep......lobsters too........learned that on Seinfeld reruns...............I have high regard for the Jews.....but not to eat lobsters..............that's just deprivation...............even with the gout, I could never stop.

I may be 50% Jewish, but I'm not positive. Not something that was ever discussed by that side of the family.
If I am I'm an Ashkenazi Jew probably.

I was confirmed a Lutheran at the age of 13, but that was insisted on by my Mother because her family was Swedish and that's what they expected a young fellow to do.

Neither of those things have affected my diet in ANY way.
