$300 sounds good, but the media is still extremely attractive even for $13/disk consider it is a 2.6gig capacity, 5c/meg is very cheap already. In fact cheaper than most tape drive around.

The standard war is among DVD-RAM (original) and DVD+RW (broke out from Sony-HP-Philips) and possibly a propriety format from NEC (MVF???).
