I feel personally offended by the fake news phenomenon. When I say that, my friends tell me: "Let people believe want they want to." Christians -in predominant Muslin northern Nigeria- are slaughtering pigs in the abattoir where muslins slaughter cows South Africans are ganging up with the Nigerian christians to invade Nigeria and establish Apartheid Israelis release dogs with rabies in Palestina

GG that's an excellent piece which I would have written [and have done a bit at a time]: counterpunch.org What's amazing is how many people are in the suicidal MAD [as in Mutual Assured Destruction] loony "Putin is Hitler" mode. I put it down to the need for belonging, identity and dominance. They would rather be wrong and dead than not feeling they are in the middle of their herd of tribal Stockholm Syndrome dominance hierarchy chimpoids. You won't get them to confront any of that and reason their way out of it with facts and logic. When facts and logic conflict with their cash flow, sense of belonging, identity and dominance position, they care little for facts and logic. Given the suicidal propensities of people, a couple of years ago [nearly] I observed that we are apparently headed for one of those super-scale troughs in human history. Many really would rather be dead than see reality and accept it and their part in it. They would rather be in De Nile and eaten by crocodiles than see reality and change their minds. I don't understand it, but there's something weird like that, perhaps due to humans being mere avatars made of meat and wet chemistry linked electromagnetically to a Good vs Evil cosmic duel. Depression in New Zealand is at epidemic levels. Apparently it's popular among Euroserfs and Americans too - I have no idea about China, India, Africa, South America. It might even be that Russia now has a lower proportion of their GDP running through the government than the "free" USA where tax levels are now enormous and rules and regulations tie everything in a Gordian Knot. USA might be leading Russia in communist aspects nowadays. But all this obsession with Russia is absurd when the geopolitical big picture is considered. Russia = 150 million fairly poor people. China = 1.3 billion rapidly improving people now becoming world number 1 economy. India = 1 billion poor people which is a big number even if poor. Jihadstan = 1 billion swarming infidel killers who are currently doing a good job of taking over Europe from Euroserfs. Africans who number a billion - a bit like India, also with little economic wherewithal. World population = 7,000 million. Russia = 150 million Russia will not be taking over the world or even a tiny bit of it outside Russia. Not unless they come up with Tradable Citizenship and some new United Nations federal constitution that everyone wants to adopt instead of the hopeless existing form. Or some other super-good idea.
