Feel free to try and transform Hispanic culture on reproduction if you like. It is slowly happening, the 2'nd generation tends to have lower family size. I'm simply commenting on what I see.

The fact remains that in Ag where seasonal workers are used, the workers benefit from social welfare due to two main issues, 1) near minimum pay wages, and 2) seasonality of work. So an artifact of the industry, that Ag has high labor demand at times, but not year around, is socialized onto the rest of the country, which thus directly benefits the Ag producer at the expense of his fellow citizens. If the farm workers weren't getting the socialized benefits, fewer would be available, and the Ag producers would be howling to Congress that they need more labor. If you lived in an Ag area, and had your eyes open, this isn't difficult to see. But the funny thing is that the Farmers would get mad as hell if you pointed it out to them. Hell, they are hard working Americans and pay their own way, and make food, yada yada. Yeah, true, and they also benefit directly from the welfare state they claim to dislike.
