Kevin:
I guess I was right on the 3D Monster being a link to the
existing card and apparently that was what my friend was talking
about when he stated" that with the card he had before he
couldnt even play some games but with the S3 virge he could
play Quake but not the special effects so he was probably
referring to Open GL . Since he had been talking about playing
QuakeII and Descent II but with the previous card he got the
Special effects but couldnt play other games and had to exchange
it for the S3 Virge and could then play all his Games but not
the full Potential of one or two then I assume he had a card that
took advantage of that but also limited him in other respects. He
did mention fx so that might have been some card that supported
that so it would then seem that you would then need a card that
was an S3 Virge and a link card that would let you play the
game but take advantage of the Special effects and when you
didnt need the GLOpen aspect then the Link card would not come
into play but you could still paly all games. This would then
mean that they are working on one card that will do both or only a
few Specialty cards are available now that will do both as a
Stand alone card.
