Ken: From your description 1,2,3,4 are all related to most actives moving in response to news correct?

number 5 Open Shorts you did not describe. What is that pattern?

Ken: a few questions.

1) how do you create your watchlist?

2) what do watch during the day?

3) what broker/software do you use?

4) do you hold positions overnight?

5) how many positions do you usually carry at one time?

6) what kind of risk management strategy do you use?

7) do you use specific technical indicators to trigger your entry/exits?

I find Wilder/Sloman's work often shows repeating patterns. Most do not believe in it however.

Toppel, of "Zen in the Markets, Confessions of a Samurai Trader" told me flatly there is no such thing as a repeating pattern. Yet others like Gene Inger, Jerry Hagerty, and lesser known people look for patterns each day.

But as I re-read your post I think perhaps you and I have differing opinions as to what constitutes a pattern, is that not so?

My error. As I read on in the thread I realised we are, indeed, talking apples and oranges here.

Sorry.

Ken; I have looked at short interest but the data I look at is
very old by the time I get it, what do you mean by open Shorts,
and how do you spot them in a timly maner ?
