The primary cause of the Great Depression was the mismanagement of the money supply. U.S.exports in the 1920's were roughly 7 per cent of GDP. Over expansion of world economies in the 1920's likely had the effect of reducing world trade during the Depression. Even if one were to give credence to the reduction of 3.5% of GDP from the tariff, which I do not, that would hardly be enough to cause a depression.
