Nice, a geek after my own heart. Every couple years I'd search for a new better crystal that would give me stronger reception. I had an excellent coil around a toilet paper roll that provided great tuning.

I actually had to Google that name, and to my surprise, he was an actual player, though long before my time on this planet. I wasn't even a twinkle in my daddy's eye way back then...

My favorite early Steelers players were Bobby Layne (who never played a sober down while with the Steelers, though as a kid, I just assumed his reddish complexion was due to sunburn), Ernie Stautner and John Henry Johnson.
