I do not want people like Koan deciding what societal norms are comprised of.

I much prefer individual freedom. You can legislate individual freedom without taking away rights. You can't legislate morality without taking away SOMEONE's rights.

Seriously, you might want to re-think this entire thing.

*People have legislated morality forever. And what I said is that it is difficult. Because it is difficult to enforce. Not everyone agrees on what moral behavior is. Which gets to the original point:

At the end of the day, the legislation you want must be SOMEONE's morality. Mine or yours? Or someone else's?

What if someone believes marijuana possession calls for a death sentence. Or that homosexuality should be punished by throwing them off of buildings?
