Yes it is, and unfortunate very few learn anthropology history and psychology, before taking office as PM, President or in charge of a country foreign policy.

As an example the village of Yatta near Hebron on the site of the Biblical town of Juttah en.wikipedia.org is a village that is mostly populate by Jews that many centuries ago moved from the Jewish kingdom of Khaibar in the south-western Arabian peninsula and where forced to be muslims, but are of Jewish origin since before the Islam came into being

IMHO all embassies of the countries that recognise the Jewish state should move to Jerusalem.

There is indeed a problem in the whole conflict of those migrant or displaced arabs that are not of Jewish origin, who settled in the Kingdom of Jerusalem en.wikipedia.org and Homeland of the Jews, several generations ago, that must be resettled, en.wikipedia.org and the more time passes the more complicated it would be.

In the Israeli Army and government many citizens of the muslim faith serve. Some in the IDF fight, against the so called "Palestinians" with great courage.

In general lines there is no distinctive "Palestinian" entity - the name Palestine was coined by the Roman Empire as an insult to the Jews. The Philistines was a nomadic seafaring population originating from southern Turkey.

After the destruction of the Jewish Kingdom close to 2000 years ago the Romans did leave a small population of Jews in the destroyed kingdom as they needed people to work the land and collect taxes in olive oil or honey or grains. With the rise of the Islamic faith and conquering of what was once the Jewish Kingdom everyone in the land was force to convert to Islam (see also the Ayyubid dynasty) and the defeat of the Crusaders at the decisive Battle of Hattin in 1187 where almost all Christian Crusader where or converted to Islam or killed.

As to more modern times Jordan is the country of those claiming to be "Palestinians". The Hashemite Kings en.wikipedia.org who ruled Mecca continuously from the 10th century until its conquest by the House of Saud in 1924 have their roots in Mecca and given the ruling over Jordan by the UK after WWI.
