My Grandfather came to the U.S. from Sweden early in the 20th century.

His original name was Erickson I think but apparently there were too many Ericksons in Sweden and my Grandfather had to take on a new name?

That's just the drift I got from listening to stuff as a little kid.

I believe my Grandmother was born in the U.S. to Swedish immigrants. I can't even remember what her maiden name was.

She certainly made some Great bread though.

Never heard my Mother or any of my aunts and uncles on that side speak ANY Swedish.

Which is interesting because my Grandmother to her death Could speak and Write in Swedish even though I don't think she'd ever been to Sweden.

Wild and crazy stuff ain't it.

I'm not Swedish but here goes:

Jag är inte svenska, men jag kan möjligen utbyta idéer i svenska ... varit i Stockholm ett par gånger, deltog i en konsert på konserthuset , red tunnelbanan, och tog en båttur på den vackra floden som rinner rakt igenom centrum...
