Relevant Closed-End Country Funds during the Peso Crisis

The devaluation began in earnest in December of 1994.

MARKET PRICE DISCOUNT / PREMIUM

Sep94 Dec94 Jan95 Sep95

LatAm Discovery 0 +17 +12 -07
LatAm Equity -05 +12 +18 -16
LatAm Investment -02 +17 +15 -15
Mexico Fund -03 +10 +25 -05
Mexico Equity & Income -03 +30 +20 -05

LatAm Growth Fund started-up during crisis at discount
and remained at a discount.

The numbers are +-2% var. I was in a hurry and just ripped them from my reports.

I think they're good enough (+-2%) to give us an idea of just how these CEFs reacted.

Hope that helps.

Excuse me for taking so long.

Tom

Reed,

> Fifty baht to the buck!

I know several graduate students from Thailand. When they came, it
was 25 bahts. Their parents sent them money. It must be difficult on the poor parents now.
