Nouveaux Riche, now that was my Doctor friend in spades. Son of a paving contractor.

So there's the NR factor, in addition to the ability to feel like you're sitting in a high chair when driving a Range Rover.

I hope no one here drives a Range Rover. Nothing personal, just life observations.

Yes ...funny how that goes... I would disagree that in Toronto that is exactly the case, sweeping generalisations are usually wrong... but lots of New Money buys things that they think will get them accepted into the Old Money group (where many are of the I did personally nothing to deserve this wealth ilk)

My dad's generation (he and his siblings) came out of the Montreal slums as Chinese French mongrels.. and all became quite rich through their business efforts.... They were never flashy with cars etc.. Haha my dad put over 300K on a Datsun (Nissan) 510 compact car to make that point :))

Some folks are just insecure :)) Just like some folks think that inherited money bestows breeding and pedigree upon them..
