Joe,

Re: "Cyrix doesn't need to reach 450 MHz initially. 250 MHz to 300 MHz will do fine. MXi would be competitive even at 225 MHz."

Joe, you don't seem tp see the "writing on the wall" ... HP just announced
today, PC's for under $800 using Intel P5MMX. Intel has now set the
pricing on their older processors so that the "Big Guys" (HP, Compaq ...)
will compete with Intel processors in the <$800 market. No one will want
a Cyrix CPU when they could of had an Intel CPU.

To put it in a Rod MacPherson's quote:

"When was that last time you heard
somebody say I could'a had a ditch water!? Rarely, IMO."

JoeBob,
Re -- Even an un-optimized .25u process is a good start.

Yeah but not if yields are low. How are they going to sell that Mxi as Jimmy OLD chap puts it for $1.
