Big bang happened 13.8 Billion years ago... Earth formed 4.5 Billion years ago. It took 1.3 Billion years for life to first appear on Earth, in the form of blue green algae. DNA didn't just "pop out" of nowhere. There are trillions of stars out there and probably not too many of them have planets with life on them as we know it (who knows?). We're pretty lucky to be here. And the diversity of life that exists on this planet is pretty wonderful and should be preserved. We're not doing a good job of it. We are part of that ecosystem and are dependent on it.
