How come "Exxon knew" decades before the IPCC knew? The climate science depts should fire all their people and hire Exxon people.

Exxon invented hybrid cars? You could claim they invented solar panels too. Is there anything Exxon didn't invent?

Exxon was one of the leading technology innovators in the world.

They still are. They make lubricants specially made for wind turbines. Heh, you need FF lubricants to keep wind turbines working:

Mobil™ industrial lubricants are used in more than 40,000 wind turbines worldwide. This includes our synthetic wind turbine lubricant – Mobilgear SHC™ XMP 320 – which, in more than 46,000 used-oil samples, has been shown to have superb wear protection and virtually no alerts due to oil aging. Our next generation wind turbine oil, Mobil SHC Gear 320 WT, takes this performance to new levels of equipment protection, operating temperature and long oil life.

There’s a reason so many companies trust Mobil industrial lubricants to keep their wind turbines spinning. We deliver optimum equipment protection and oil performance in a wide range of conditions, including onshore, offshore, dry or wet, and at high or low temperatures.

We also offer Mobil Serv? Engineering Services – including Wind Turbine Gearbox Flush and Fill, as well as startup and cleanliness guidance – which help support wind farm operators in achieving outstanding equipment protection and long service intervals, resulting in safety, environmental and operating cost benefits.

Onshore or offshore, you can count on our technology leadership and application expertise to help keep your wind turbines running at peak efficiency.

This whole thing is just an attempt to suppress dissent by government force.

ExxonMobil’s first line of defense was to claim with a straight face that is was not subject to the jurisdiction of the state of Massachusetts because it did no business within the state. Now don’t laugh. Exxon actually went into court and claimed that every Exxon station in Massachusetts was independently owned. Just because they had a bright red EXXON sign out front did not mean they were directly affiliated with ExxonMobil.

If they really are independently owned (which surprises me a bit about "all" but is certainly at least true about most), then Exxon-Mobil has a very good point.
