I have to break my New Years Resolution

The HP announcement shows that Intel is moving rapidly to purge the market of MMX's. This is also an attempt to keep AMD off balance in the $1-1.5K segment.

I'm surprised at the speed with which the 233MMX is moving sub $1K.

Gene, Re: Compaq/Cyrix mediaGX captured a large percentage of sub-0's in Q4

How 'large' is large ? Please quantify. And if this did happen
and sub-0 consist of a 'large' percentage of the total PC
shipment in Q4, Intel would have been seriously hurt in
Q497, not 'will begin to show up' in Q198.
